"What Does it Take to Be An ICT-Student"

Information and communications technology or information and communication technology, is often used as an extended synonym for information technology (IT), but is usually a more general term that stresses the role of unified communications and the integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), computers, middle ware as well as necessary software, storage- and audio-visual systems, which enable users to create, access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.
We are now living in a modern society, 'the computer age'. Almost all of the things are connected to computer. Being an ICT-Student is very important and i am very lucky because I've given the chance to become an ICT-Student. ICT-Subject widen my knowledge about information and communication technology. I am very thankful to all the people behind my learning.By having built up a range of specialist knowledge and insight, students are better prepared to enter the world of employment."

I will treasure all of this knowledge. I will use this as my companion to cope all

my dreams. :)

"13 Years"

I am lying on my bed staring at the stars and the crescent moon at my window. I slowly close my eyes and begin dreaming........
Thirteen years from now, I am 29 years old woman wearing my corporate attire sitting on my hi-tech chair while having my coffee on my own office in a big company that I owned and manage. I'm staring at my huge glass window looking at the beauty of nature. The dancing waves of the ocean and the shimmering sand that looks like diamonds catch my attention. I can't imagine that I passed all the troubles in my adventure 13 years ago and I successfully achieved my dreams. In the year 2025, I have already my own family, my husband and my cute son. I am a successful business woman. I have my own company and restaurants. I am leaving with my family with happiness, contentment and with the will of God.
I opened my eyes and sigh. What a wonderful dream I have. All I want  is to have a peaceful life in the future.
I am not sure what would be my life after thirteen years but I assure and I will strive hard to achieve success.

Kannawidan: The Ylocos Festival

The yearly Kannawidan Ylocos Festival of Ilocos Sur showcases the spirit of the Ilocano Child. Vigan City is the venue of Kannawidan Festival.

             VIVA VIGAN!! KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL!!

This festival, celebrated on January 29 to February 5. It highlights Ilocos food, arts, trade, crafts, and products.

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. Children of today are paying more attention to the modernand novelty dances they seen on the television than the traditional ones. There is also a need to evaluate the different products of the different municipalities and the agricultural products and livestock of the farmers and fisher folks. Because of this, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the KANNAWIDAN Ylocos Festival, it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818.

The celebration was opened by a celebrated mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a procession of the patron saints of the 40 parishes and images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the province’s capital city. This shows the deep rooted religiosity of the Ilocanos. Rev. Fr. Roque Reyes who officiate the mass articulated in his homily that this festivity is the time to thank the Almighty not only for the abundance He showered for the province but also the rich heritage of the place including the strong ties among the Ilocano families.

Witnessing all this makes one realize the beauty and dignity of Ilocos culture and people. We should be proud of our Ilocano culture.

The festival not only brings us takes one back to the roots; it also enables one to look into the future through art created by people. Their art speaks of their belief in the beauty of the world as gift from the Creator. Their songs and dances outshine any sadness  this present world has thrown at them.

“KEEPING IN MIND OUR MOTHER TONGUE”

The identity of a man is seen by his own language. There are hundreds of different languages all over the world.
Language is very important in our day to day living. It helps to mold a growing individual. We use it to communicate, to socialized, to negotiate and to mingle with others. Different languages exist in a group of people in order to gain unity and peace among the people. Sometimes, we cannot avoid going to other country for some purposes and reasons- we need to adjust and change our language speaking for an easier communication to strangers. But always keep in mind wherever place or country we go, we have our own mother tongue. Yes, every individual knows more than two languages but there will always be a one town, one language.
Always bear in mind my dear friends, my dear Ilocano our mother tongue. I’m proud to be an Ilocano.

"NEW YEAR, NEW ME!"

"Another fresh new year is here." Happy new Year Everyone!"
It's time to banish all those bitter memories we had at the past. Let's start a new life, a new beginning.
As I enter the first page of my life, let me reminisce first my 2011 life. While reviewing my past, there is one thing that catch my attention and that is being a lazy person and sometimes a bad girl to my parents. I realized that since a year ends and another year comes, I need to knock my shell. It's time to remove my old shell and create a new me. My first target is to lessen or totally delete my attitude being lazy, lazy in doing household chores and sometimes lazy in doing my assignments and projects. I want also to change some of my lifestyles. Last year, I saw myself, a bad girl and I regret doing bad things. Sometimes, I hated myself.
This new year, 2012, I want changes. I’m not promising that I will be a pure good girl but I will do my very best to be a good daughter to my parents. I want to do this change with my inspirations in my life, my parents, my family, my friends, my love ones and specially my dear Lord. Walk with me as I go on to the goals of my life….. J
